There was an odd shaped corner off the back of the property with lots of sun: perfect spot to grow fresh herbs tomatoes and peppers and other essential salad items
Several thyme varieties, basil in summer, rosemary always, mixed seeded salad greens, arugula, oregano, lemon mint, lemon verbena, artemisia, chocolate mint, jalapeños, shishito, poblano, garlic chives, the list goes on.
Improved Meyer lemons do so very well here. Just protect them from the harsh freeze and they will reward you with the most delicious flavors. We get up to 50 lemons a year off of only two potted trees.
This fun Kitchen Garden has medicinal herbs and lots of citrus, we built these large solid cedar boxes in dynamic shapes with little gravel pathways for easy access to harvest and tend the crops. What a way to make a neglected side yard useful and pretty!
